Week 9 - back to a very busy term!

Image
I hope everyone had a lovely October holiday.  Looking at some of the October challenges it looks like a good time was had by all. We have had a fantastic first week back and have been super busy as usual.  We are not going to mention the 'C' word but we will be starting to learn our songs for our Nativity very soon 😬. We will also be getting our lines to learn so look out for them in our Homework Bags in the coming weeks. Our sounds this week were 'g', 'o', 'u'. Our new common words were as, with and his. We have started a block of gymnastics in our PE time on a Friday.  We have been stretching our bodies and balancing. Cutting and sticking numbers in order. This is Mrs Thomson with chicken pox and a baby in her tummy (I don't by the way) Conkers in a special holder. C The artists! Writing about learning the time in his Learning Log. Creativity, design and construction skills. A zoo for our animals.

Last 2 weeks of First Term

I can hardly believe that we have come to the end of our First term in P1.  It has gone so quickly and we have achieved so much these last 8 weeks.  Our first day seems so long ago. These last 2 weeks we have been revising all our sounds and common words.  We have been doing lots of active numeracy and active literacy activities as well as enjoying our last couple of sessions of Forest School. We won't have Forest School in Term 2 so our PE days are now Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Cairney and Friday morning with Mrs Thomson. We finished off this term with some Tae Kwon Do.  Little Red Riding Hood and granny all safe from the wolf and other animals.  Very proud of his rocket made from wooden shapes and following the instruction card.  WOW!  Inky the Mouse twins.  Taking notes.  The aftermath of a muddy Forest School. A representation of how all the teacher's are feeling by the end of term!
